Congraluations, you’ve found your way to the tastiest corner of Ireland!

A Grave Success is the project of husband-and-wife team Gretchen and Alan, whose wine-making adventure started in their kitchen in 2024 with the purchase of a 7-day wine kit and a lot of enthusiasm.

Noticing the…very positive reception from their friends, it seemed like a good idea to ramp up production ahead of their wedding that summer. In the end, they made 130 bottles of wine, one for each guest at the wedding.

“I wonder what else you can turn into wine,” mused Gretchen. The answer turned out to be: just about anything.

Remembering an old nostalgic song she used to listen to, whose lyrics wax poetic about the “summers of dandelion wine”, Gretchen decided that her first foray into experimental wine-making would have to be dandelion wine. Where could she go to forage enough dandelions to make wine from, somewhere that they don’t mow the grass, and don’t spray pesticides? Well, that was the historic cemetery nearby, and that’s where A Grave Success gets its name!

Since then, the pair have made it their mission to bring the diverse and flavour-rich world of craft wine to Ireland, experimenting with the likes of raspberry wine, elderflower wine, blueberry, lemon, and gorseflower wine, beetroot and cardamom wine…the list goes on!

As of 2026, we are currently in the process of renting a commercial unit in the city, so that we can begin full-scale operations. We thank you for coming along this journey with us!
